Looking for NY Martial Arts that incorporates sparring from the beginning

How are you guys. I've taken Karate before, and became a Brown belt believe it or not when I was 13 years old without ever fighting. I mastered all the techniques, but maybe because I was young they never made me spar. Fast forward 11 years later and I've never really been in a fight, and I think it's turned me into a little more timid of a man than I'd like to be. I feel like in some ways sparring and being in a few fights are part of becoming a grounded "protector" man. I want to join a Martial Arts that incorporates sparring from day one so I can stop being timid and start standing up for myself when I have to. I've looked into a particular school that teaches JKD but they said "2 years of learning technique then sparring." I feel like part of getting good at defending yourself in a fight is actually fighting, because of exposure to the crazy adrenaline rush you get when in a fight.

I'm doing this for confidence and self defense. Should I do boxing? MMA? Krav Maga? Ju Jitsu?

Any recommendations on Long Island would be great.
