Hey everyone!
So most of my friends know I do martial arts. And a few of them, when the subject has come up, have expressed interest in learning self-defense, and I've always offered to teach them some of what I know. Recently there's been a handful of people who've taken me up on the offer, so next semester I'm thinking I'll get a group of friends together to do some informal lessons.
Now, before anyone freaks out, I'm not giving them false promises. I've told them that I'm not that experienced, especially in teaching, and that I can't teach them at a level that will make them be able to take on a mugger or whatever. But I do have some basic self-defense knowledge, and that I can pass on to them.
TL;DR, This is my first time ever instructing martial arts. It's a super informal group, but I still want to do my best, teach them well, and (of course) be safe. If any instructors on the forums could give me some tips and pointers to leading a good lesson, I'd appreciate it a ton. I could use ideas on what types of things to teach (esp to beginners), how to organize a lesson, how to best teach a technique, etc.
Thanks everyone :D
