Hi There!!!
Im Matt from Adelaide Australia!
I have been training for 15 years but in that time have dabbled quite a lot unfortunately. I started in Taekwondo at 13 and received my 1st dan, after which I left and began training in Goju Ryu Karate (1st kyu), Kendo and Kobudo.
After my teacher stopped teaching I stopped training for a while and when I began looking again I dabbled in Kung Fu (Various), Muay Thai, Boxing, Tai Chi and Shotokan Karate.
Currently have justed started training again in Kobudo after a nasty car accident knocked me out of the game for a while but desperately looking for somewhere decent to continue my Goju Karate which is MUCH easier said than done :-(
I am not into Karate (or any martial art) for sport or ego personally and am very tired of trying places that are only interested in the martial arts for the opportunity to soley make money....
It is frustrating that the places I would prefer to train at wouldnt really "advertise" generally, but that also makes them very difficult to find or to stick around long..
Anyway, thats enough from me whinging for now haha, if anyone knows any good dojos down my way PLEASE let me know :P
Until then I look forward to chatting to some of you and learning some more from like minded people :-)
Cheers and talk soon
Matt
