Barton Mines Road to Hour Pond - 3/23/14

Well today was probably my last XC of the season since there are a couple 50 degree days on the horizon. I made the most of it by skiing in the Siamese Ponds Wilderness.

I started at Barton Mines Road, then skied to the Botheration Loop. I turned left to ski the loop clockwise and immediately ran into Bob K and his wife. Nice meeting you both!

The skiing was great until I got to the longest of the foot bridges. A bunch of people had bare boot hiked to this bridge yesterday from the Old Farm trailhead and they left the trail a mess for skiers.

Once I got to the Old Farm Road, I skied the trail to Hour Pond for the first time. Some good hills there to get in some downhill runs. On the way back, I took the Halfway Brook Trail to complete the Botheration Loop.

I skied 16.3 miles today, for a 2 day total of 30 miles. I'm now ready to rest and let spring really arrive!
