I've never done CLF...or TMA for that matter...
But I knew a number of CLF students back in the Chicago area who were actually really tough fighters. They were not afraid to throw down, and spar with anyone, especially other styles. They weren't trying to prove how tough they were, just testing themselves.
Anyway, I was very impressed. They competed in Sanshou and it was cool.
So I've had that impression that CLF is a hard nosed, traditional, but not afraid to spar hard and really go at it.
I just found out there is a CLF school about an hour away. I would be willing to commute (especially since it's motorcycle season) twice a week.
I called their instructor, left a message, and I'm waiting for a call back.
It's called Helena Kung Fu
http://ift.tt/1saebk4
It's in the Plum Blossom Federation (don't know anything about them)...
I have questions to ask once I get on the phone with him...such as do they spar, how hard, and how regularly...
I plan to observe a class, but before I even waste two hours on the road, I want to know if it has any potential.
Because of my location in the land of mountains, elk, and no people...I doubt anyone will know specifically about the school. But I'm hoping maybe some info on the association.
Thank you so much :) Hope to hear from you guys soon.
