Has anybody ever hiked with a pack basket?

Over the years, I've seen many stores that sell Adirondack Pack Baskets. The ADK is actually offering a course on how to make them.

For those who don't know, they are basically huge woven baskets with straps that are worn like a backpack.



So my question is, does anybody actually hike with these things? Has anyone here on the forum done so? Are they just decorative? They seem like they must be pretty uncomfortable.
