Anyone been past Mason Lake off Rte 30 recently and noticed if the ice is gone yet? I'm feeling the urge to do some early fishing and prefer the quieter ponds and small lakes in my kayak. I know in past years it has thawed much faster than other places, maybe due to the sun exposure and shallow depth? I've had a few really good days there catching perch in the emerging weed beds and bass off the submerged trees, even in April.
