Columbus Day, multi peak w/ trails

I know - super busy weekend. We are five hours away though and I wish to take advantage of the long weekend.

Looking for peaks with trails (or easy to follow herd paths). Wish to hike in Friday, grab a couple peaks Sat, maybe a couple more Sun.

I'm looking for a less used trail head to get to an interior camp that will enable us to day hike a few peaks. I was originally thinking hiking in Lake Road but this might be congested. We did Flowed Lands via Calamity Brook last Columbus Day and it was congested. Didn't bother us but we wish to be kind to trails.

We hammock camp so can follow the 150' rule without requiring a flat tent site.

Or Elk Lake -> Marcy. Panther Gorge area as base-camp. Still, the four corners may be like Time Square

Or Elk Lake -> Hunters pass and try the Dix range?
