Early October hiker traffic in Pharaoah Lake Wilderness

I am planning on doing a 3 day, 2 night backpack of the Pharaoh Lake Wilderness Area next weekend (10/1- 10/3). I plan to get to Putnam campground parking or Short Swing trail early Saturday morning and head out Monday morning.

Anybody know about the crowds/backpacking traffic that is typical for this time of year? I prefer campsites over lean-to's, and prefer to be as isolated from others as possible as I'll have my dog with me.

Any ideas about how much competition for sites and lean-to's I can expect next weekend? I'm pretty much open to going wherever necessary in the PLWA.
