Lake Colden mosquitoes

Convinced my wife that hauling a pack 6 1/2 miles to Colden Lake will be more than worth it. I have been there probably six times and many years ago my wife also backpacked in. Being 60, and even though I will carry as much of her stuff as I can, it will still be hard on her. The beauty there goes without saying, however, I am a little concerned about biting bugs. I want this trip for her to be special, but a lot of mosquitoes or deer flies would be a problem. We plan on hiking in Sept. 14th which is a Wednesday and staying for two nights. Temps look to be in the 70's during the day and 40's at night. Little or no rain.
