Greetings all! Planning a trip in October incorporating some time on the water, and some time on land. Basically Inlet to the 5 ponds trail/Sand Lake via canoe, stash canoes, then backpack to Sand. I've scoured the archives here, as well as the ADK book "Adirondack Canoe Waters North Flow" and have some good info, but was wondering if some could fill in the blanks of a few questions I have?
Is there a Starbucks in that area, and if not, how's the wi-fi?
....just kidding.
How ambitious is it to paddle to the 5 ponds trail in one day, from Inlet?
I've hiked in to Big Shallow from Wanakena a few years back, and wanted to spend some more time in that area. The stretch of the Oswegatchie before the trail looks/sounds amazing! So ostensibly it's a no brainer, but we only have 3 full days, and although I've always felt the journey IS the destination, I would really love to make it to sand lake. Just not sure if the paddle to the trail is more than our itinerary can handle.
Cheers in advance, G
