We found a headlamp laying on the ground near the sign marking the junction to the Marcy Trail from the Slant Rock trail, outside JBL. If this is yours, PM me with the type of headlamp and color. I'll check it here and on ADKHighPeaksForum over the next few weeks.
The vaguely uphill trail to Slant Rock was in fair condition, some mud of course. The rest of the trails had lots of water on occasions, just a little to make all the rocks and slabs wet.
There really isn't that much else to say. Haystack was incredible, one of my favorite mountains so far in the 46'ers, up there with Rocky Peak Ridge and Algonquin. The views were expected from a few previous trail reports, but did not cease to be awe-inspiring. Basin was a little rough. Saddleback's cliffs were a little bit of an adrenaline rush.
Photos (taken with my Motorola smartphone):
Ascending Haystack
Alpine meadows and a mysterious type of flower...
Marcy and Panther Gorge
Haystack, Skylight and Marcy from Basin
Saddleback, the lower Great Range, and Giant in the distance
On the Saddleback Cliffs
A deer just a few minutes away from the trailhead
