Rifle regulations for deer hunting

First off, PLEASE, I am NOT trying to stir up a debate here, I'm just looking for an answer to this question. If I travel to the Adirondacks this fall for deer hunting, is there any way or configuration or whatever that a AR-15, owned by a non-resident, is legal to possess and use for deer hunting in New York State?

I know the SAFE act changed a lot of things, but I'm not especially familiar with the details.
