Kennyetto Creek

How many times have we driven over this and said "We should try this out"?

Well, today was the day...our plan was to paddle the Kunjamuck, but we decided to look at the Kennetto. Well, looking turned into paddling.

We first put in at the 2nd Rt 30 crossing, and paddled downstream to Sacandaga Reservoir. All flat water with a healthy current.

When we got to the Res., there was jetski action on the water and ATV action at the gravel pit that was just out of sight (but within earshot!).

After paddling back upstream to our put in, we went a little more upstream past some little quick water and riffles. We went as far as we could against the ever quickening current, then back to the car.

Once back in the car, we decided to "look" at the next upstream section, at the 1st Rt 30 crossing. We looked for a suitable way to reach the creek, and spoke to a dude mowing his lawn. Turns out the dude was Sean, owner of Sean Michaels Hair Salon...he said sure, we could put in there and leave our car too!! And so we paddled the next section.

More riffles, deadfalls (only one that blocked), and some
