Slipstream Canoes experience?

Just read a casual reference by C. Wilson to a company named Slipstream Watercraft. Did a quick review of their website and my interest was piqued by the weight of their pack canoes and the relatively low price point. The specs on the 13 foot model seem to compare favorably with Hornbeck's New Trick 13. My only concern is seeing that the beam is quite a bit more portly than the New Trick line.



Has anyone had firsthand experience with Slipstream canoes? Of course I would probably want to demo one before buying, but I'd like to see if it's worth my time. If these canoes are slow and slow to turn (like classic Hornbeck lines) I don't want to bother.
