I've been reading through the Mantis thread that's going on at the moment and am quite curious about the Mantis styles.
I've messed around on YouTube and what not, but I am really not quite sure what the differences are between 7 Star, Northern, and Southern Mantis.
Could anyone give me a breakdown of the differences?
There's a 7 Star club here and I've been toying with the idea of going. It's quite an informal group (so the bloke I spoke to said) which really suits me. When I have watched videos of the group they aren't afraid to glove up and smack each other around. They seem more focused on application than forms.
One thing that appeals to me about the Mantis styles is the techniques look very similar to the FMA I do, so I think it won't be too hard to pick up the techniques. Problem is, i can't remember which style of Mantis it was.
Edit: I am just watching an episode of kung Fu Quest where different guys go off and learn the different Mantis styles to get an idea.
